Cost of scaffolding

Our guide scaffolding hire prices for 2026

Most of our customers ask us how much it costs to hire scaffolding. What is the price per m²? The price of a scaffold depends on many factors, some of which we have listed below. As a guide, our prices start from £250 for a small independent structure; however, they can rise to £10,000 plus for larger scaffolds. As part of our commitment to being a responsive company, we always aim to offer low-cost scaffolding prices to domestic and construction clients and to provide a fast, convenient, no-obligation quote service.

Regardless of the type of building or refurbishment work needed, your first question is, How much does scaffolding cost? Our hire prices are incredibly competitive and typically based on a per-metre rate; however, we sometimes price scaffolds based on the time to erect, the hire period, and other factors. However, before deciding to hire, many customers also consider buying their own scaffolding instead. Read our detailed comparison: Hiring vs buying scaffolding: Which is better? You’ll discover when purchasing scaffold can offer better long-term value and when hiring remains the most practical and economical choice.

**All scaffolding rates are approximate**

When working at height, we understand that keeping your scaffolding costs under control is essential, so our prices include 4 weeks of hire as standard, regardless of whether you need the scaffolding for 1 day or more. Overruns on rental periods can affect scaffolding prices, so we will always try our best to accommodate an overrun from the outset on your renovation or building project so that it won’t cost you an extra penny in hire.

Many things determine the scaffolding hire price, including:

  • Length and height of the scaffolding structure?
  • How many scaffolding lifts are needed, and how many platforms need boarding out?
  • Will beams be required to bridge over any obstacles?
  • How long is the scaffold needed?
  • Which area is your property located in?
  • Do you need a scaffolding pavement license, as the price of these varies from council to council?
  • Does your property need debris netting and monarflex sheeting?

All of the above can significantly affect a scaffold’s price.

Where possible, we aim to respond to any request for scaffolding costs and supply our quotation within 4 hours of receiving your details; however, sometimes it may take a little longer, so please bear with us. When requesting a quotation, please ensure that you provide as much detail as you can, for example, the approximate size of the area that needs to be scaffolded, if possible, the nature of the project, with examples being a rental property that needs a refurbishment or a new build house extension, etc., and any site photographs that you have, as these can be very helpful. This information allows us to provide accurate prices and full project quotes, and, of course, we are happy to provide a site survey whenever needed.
